the dust settles on "Star Trek Beyond"

I have not had a single thought about Star Trek Beyond since I saw it six weeks ago. It is on track to be the first Star Trek movie (other than the unspeakably terrible Nemesis) that I have only seen one time in the theaters. Many people of my acquaintance (and a few professional critics) said that it was an exciting, action-packed return to the tone set by the original 1960s television series. I hope that now, with a little perspective, they can acknowledge that this is nowhere near true, and that Star Trek Beyond was, instead, a completely forgettable movie.
